On Friday evening in the heart of the kent countryside I spent a very pleasant night doing close up magic for the patrons and staff of The Duke William in Ickham Kent.
This is the second time I have graced their doors, the last time was back in the long nights of summer when I performed inside and outside magic for a very full house indeed. A wedding was to be held the next day and so I had the pleasure of entertaining the bridal party. A German party had landed also to join in the fun. Needless to say it was crowded.
The Duke William is a charming pub in a glorious location. If you walk out the back of the Pub past the generous outdoor garden tabled area the space blends into the wild. You can walk straight out to several footpaths leading out across the fields with the setting sun in front of you it could be your next adventure!
Don’t let the cliche country pub location fool you as to its clientele, or its menu. A very exclusive set frequents this watering hole for its a la carte menu traditional ales and bon homie! It is a vibrant well kept secret by the locals, keen to keep it to themselves! Well too late now the word is out!
